A freak accident at a junkyard on Joe Farrington Road left a man dead yesterday after he was reportedly crushed to death by a tractor.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Reports are that the victim is believed to be a worker at CRT Enterprises Limited.

When The Bahama Journal arrived on the scene the man had already been taken to hospital where he died.

A nearby resident, who saw the commotion outside her home and came to the scene to find out what happened, said she did not know a man had died.

She said earlier that day she saw one of the workers, along with two other men in the yard doing some work.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she heard the tractor running, but that it was nothing out of the norm.

She said she then heard the equipment stop and soon after an ambulance was on the site.

On the scene the owner of the junkyard was seen assisting crime scene investigators with their probe.

He refused to comment or allow the media on the property.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
