John Bull Robbery Trial Delayed

The trial involving three men accused of robbing a popular Bay Street store was delayed last week after lawyers had to deal with several legal issues before having a jury begin to hear evidence.

Justice Indra Charles empanelled a jury on Tuesday in reference to the John Bull robbery but sent them away as several legal issues arose.

Back on May 22, 2011 police alleged that Jasper Curry, David Collins and Jonathon Armbrister., armed with high powered guns ran into the John Bull store on Bay Street.

At the time, police said the trio smashed the glass counter with a hammer and helped themselves to approximately 15 watches valued around $60,000 each but according to court dockets the trio managed to get away with 12 watches totalling $395,360.

Representing the Attorney General’s Office is Sandra Dee Gardiner.

The defendants are represented by Geoffrey Farquharson, Jerone Roberts and Jomo Campbell.

The matter is expected to continue this week.
