Police have launched an island-wide manhunt for the suspects who gunned down a man outside his Pinewood Gardens residence yesterday morning.
Lamar Roberts, 29, was approached by two men wearing hooded sweaters around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
The men opened fire as Roberts attempted to flee. He was shot multiple times about the body and died on the scene.
The Bahama Journal understands that Roberts was expected to appear as a witness in an armed robbery trial which was scheduled to begin yesterday.
No description has been given about the suspects; however, the men did flee the scene in a charcoal coloured Suzuki SUV.
Police are now going door to door questioning residents and have expanded their search to cover the entire island.
Roberts’ death marked the country’s 91st murder for the year.
Police are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 919; 911 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
