A team of officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) is on the ground on Mayaguana where investigations are underway into the alleged abduction and armed robbery of the island’s administrator, Officer-in-Charge of CDU Superintendent Paul Rolle confirmed yesterday.
Administrator Charles Moss was reportedly abducted from his home around 3:00 p.m., Sunday and taken a block away to the island’s administrative office where his alleged abductors robbed him of a substantial amount of money and tied him up before escaping.
The administrator, who has served in that post for nearly three years, was found bound in his office Monday morning by an employee.
He was flown to New Providence Monday afternoon to receive medical attention.
Meanwhile, Supt. Rolle said that police have arrested one man in connection with this incident.
The arrest occurred at the domestic terminal of the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) after the man was found in possession of a large sum of money.
Supt. Rolle also said police are following significant leads into this incident.
