Grand Bahama police have identified the island’s third traffic fatality victim as 30-year-old Randy Russell of Scott Avenue, Freeport.
Last Wednesday, police received a report of a traffic accident on Grenfell Avenue.
Officers spotted a grey 1993 Mercury Tracer, which was suspected of being stolen, and attempted to stop the driver.
The driver tried to escape and ended up crashing into a black Nissan Altima.
At the same time, he allegedly struck a male cyclist who was on the southern side of Grenfell Avenue.
The occupant of the Mercury Tracer was able to escape.
EMS personnel were called to the scene, Russell and the driver and passenger of the black Nissan Altima were all transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital.
Russell died the following day around 2:30 a.m.
The Bahama Journal understands that the other two passengers are still listed in stable condition at the Rand Memorial Hospital.
