Police Corporal Alexander Beneby, 41, of 194 Scott Avenue, was arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Rengin Johnson in Magistrate Court number three in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

He was arraigned on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a dependent.

Beneby pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected a summary trial. He was represented by attorney Wendal Smith.

The matter was adjourned until July 28. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until trial.

Abaco Resident Charged with Attempted Murder

Jeason Delhomme, 18, of the Mudd, Abaco, was arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Ancella Evans- Williams at the Magistrate Court in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

He was arraigned on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life.

Delhomme was not allowed to enter a plea. A preliminary enquiry into this matter will be held on June 8.

His arraignment is in connection to a matter that occurred on April 23, 2015.

Delhomme was further arraigned on a housebreaking charge and pleaded guilty.

He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until May, 27 for sentencing.
