Police are investigating a fire at Magic City Night Club, located in the Cable Beach Shopping Centre, West Bay Street.
According to reports sometime around 4:23 p.m. Saturday, police received information that smoke was emanating from the establishment.
Firefighters responded and met the interior of the 13 rooms, single storey, stone structure engulfed in flames.
The fire was brought under control within a relatively short period and subsequently extinguished.
The fire was contained to the Magic City Night Club; however, two nearby businesses received smoke and water damages.
Active police investigations continue.
This is not the first time the strip club has had to deal with a fire.
A similar incident occurred back in June 2010, which many believed was an act of arson.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said at that time that fire fighters discovered a hole in the roof of the building which they believe was created to pour some flammable liquid down to later ignite.
Other entities in the plaza received smoke damage and were affected by fumes.
The Westridge Shopping Plaza is owned by Rupert Roberts, who also owns the Super Value food store chain.
The Plaza is insured with Cole Insurance, though Magic City – occupied by Craig Wells – was not insured.
