Eight people were arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes, yesterday, on charges in connection with a major drug trafficking ring discovered last week on the Eastern Road.
Appearing before Magistrate Forbes were seven males and one female.
The suspects included 26-year-old Jimmy Joseph of Fire Trail Road, 26-year-old Sean Major of the Eastern Road, 21-year-old Ilano Noel of Market Street, brothers, 42-year-old Andre Porter of Foxdale and 45-year-old Ian Porter of Jupiter Star Way, 36-year-old Butler Street resident, Devon Campbell, 28-year-old
Zintworn Duncombe of Marigold Farm and the lone female, 26 -year-old Daneal Knowles of the Eastern Road.
The eight suspects were charged with possession of a quantity of Indian hemp with the intent to supply.
The incident allegedly took place between January 4th and January 14th 2016.
The suspects all pleaded not guilty, and bail was denied.
However, the group was advised of their right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
The accused were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections as the matter was adjourned to May 3 and 4.
