The two men who were caught on Sunday during a drug bust were arraigned in court yesterday on drug related charges.
Dundas Munnings, 34, of Twynam Heights and Dennis Earnest, 41, were arraigned on charges yesterday before Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
The two men were charges with possession of drugs with intent to supply and conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply.
Munnings was charged on a separate count of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.
Both men pleaded not guilty to all charges.
On Sunday morning around 9:15 a.m., officers of the DEU uncovered 52 packages of marijuana at a residence off Tonique Darling Highway in the area of Pikkano properties.
The total weight of the marijuana found was 1,389 pounds with a street value of $1,389,00.
When police arrived at the three-story residence, DEU officers say the two males were occupying the home at the time.
This month, the Royal Bahamas Police Force is celebrating International Day Against Drug Abuse and Drug Trafficking, Superintendent Butler says this shows the public that police are meeting their set mandates.
Officers say these persons were known to the criminal justice system and were therefore a target.
When DEU officers led the media towards the seized contraband, a bathroom with dozens of croak sacks full of marijuana could seen along with several bins filled with the seized contraband.
It was revealed that the owner of the property was currently in Abaco at the time of the drug bust.
Officers are asking anyone with information in this matter to please come forward as soon as possible.
