Defense Attorney to Call Witnesses In Murder Trial

The ball’s now in the court of defense attorneys, who opened their case in the murder trial of Stephen ‘Die’ Stubbs, Clinton Evans and Andrew Davis.

The men are on their third round of trial for the March 29th, 1999 murder of Police Constable Jimmy Ambrose.

On Monday, the men were asked whether they wished to keep silent or take the stand and give their own accounts as to what happened on that day.

Both Stubbs and Davis opted to remain silent and have their attorneys act on their behalf.

This means Murrio Ducille and Ian Cargill will not call witnesses to the stand.

However, Evans’ attorney Ramona Farquharson-Seymour said she will call two witnesses in the case this morning to testify in her client’s defense.

Weeks ago, the Crown called a witness to the stand who said he saw Evans dispose of a gun in a pile of sand behind a building under construction.

The matter continues before Justice Roy Jones.
