Progressive Liberal Party leader Philip ‘Brave’ Davis officially announced his candidacy for the party’s leadership during a prayer breakfast on Saturday morning at the Baha Mar resort.
Mr. Davis currently serves as the party’s interim leader following the resignation of former prime minister Perry Christie after the PLP’s overwhelming defeat in the May 10th general election. Under what seems to be his campaign’s theme, “ Be Brave,” Mr. Davis is promising change under his leadership.
He said that the party and its supporters must get ready for the journey ahead. “In the coming days, weeks and months, let us begin to ready ourselves for the journey ahead and get ready to rebuild and renew our great organization with compassion, common purpose and a renewed zeal to fight for the betterment of our brothers and sisters.
Mr. Davis set to oppose Englerston MP Glenys Hanna Martin for the party’s top post. Hanna Martin announced her bid several weeks ago.
The PLP’s convention is set for October 22nd-25th.
