Court Witness Murdered -Bloody Weekend

Two people – a court witness and an Atlantis employee on her way home from a wedding– were killed this past weekend, pushing the country’s homicide count to 79.

This is the second consecutive bloody weekend that police have had to deal with.

On Saturday, a man was shot to death in the Nassau Village area.

According to police, 34-year-old Robert McIntosh was walking through Freeman’s Subdivision shortly before 8:00 p.m. when three men in a white car armed with firearms approached him and shot him multiple times about the body before speeding off.

According to Journal sources, the McIntosh is known to police and was a witness in a matter currently before the courts.

Sources also tell The Journal that he was shot with a high-powered weapon and sustained at least 20 bullet wounds.

Meantime, an Atlantis employee was shot to death in the Pinewood Gardens area earlier that day.

The Journal has confirmed the victim’s identity as 34-year-old Gwenette Duncombe.

A man was driving Duncombe and another female passenger in the Sequoia Street area when two men in a red Ford Explorer pulled alongside their Honda and opened fire, hitting Duncombe multiple times about the body and the right side of her face.

The suspects then began chasing the car.

The driver drove the victim – who was sitting in the back passenger seat – to the East Street South Police Station parking lot where she died.

The Journal can also confirm that everyone in the Honda worked at the Atlantis Resort.

The occupants of the Honda were returning home from a wedding at a church on Cox Way and wanted to stop at the driver’s home before heading to the wedding reception.

Police are also investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday.

According to police, the male victim was parking his vehicle at his home through Williams Street in Nassau Village, when two gunmen approached him and shot him multiple times about the body.
The suspects later fled on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital in a private car where he died as a result of those injuries.

Investigations into all these matters are ongoing.

Just last weekend four people were killed – two on Sunday and two on Saturday.
