Chef Jean-Georges Vongertichten’s Café Martinique – just one of several fine-dining options offered at the famed Atlantis, Paradise Island – was recently named among the 10 best Casino Restaurants in the world by Fodors.com.

Its traditional French cuisine accentuated with the tasty tropical flavours of the islands and charming ambience are the restaurant’s main draws, however according to the comments of many of its guests, it is the warm and friendly personality of the all-Bahamian staff that makes the difference.

Café Martinique was originally made famous by its appearance in the 1965 James Bond Classic, “Thunderball.”

Among its notable features is a wrought-iron birdcage elevator, a dramatic mahogany staircase and elegantly etched glass windows.
