Shadow Minister of Labour and Social Development and Member of Parliament (MP) for Long Island Loretta Butler-turner has announced that she is suing Damian Gomez.
In a very brief statement issued on Monday afternoon, Butler –Turner announced that she would be suing the attorney and MP of Central and South Eleuthera after she said he lied about her having shares in a company which has a contract with the government.
“I categorically deny that I have any shares in any company which has a contract with the government,” she said.
“The false and defamatory statement by Damian Gomez, Minister of state and Queens Counsel, concerning any shares I allegedly have in a company which has a contract with the government are absolutely false and I have instructed my attorney to begin legal action against Minister Gomez for defamation of character.”
Butler-turner says she does not and never held shares in any company which has a contract with the government of the Bahamas.
