Burnt human remains were found through a tract road in Devil’s Point, Cat Island on Thursday, police said.

Police made the discovery shortly before midnight.

Officers were notified of a strange odor emanating in the area and after checking the scene found human remains.

A team of officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) in New Providence went to the island to assist officers with investigations.

The country’s homicide count now stands at 94.

Meantime, police are investigating a drowning in Great Harbour Cay.

According to reports, shortly after 9:00 Saturday morning , the deceased – believed to be in his early thirties – was found floating in waters off Great Harbour Cay.
