Officials at The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) said the company will soon embark on a major system upgrade that is expected to cause glitches across the system.
In a press statement issued Thursday, BTC officials said they are set to soon begin a cell optimisation exercise for improved network stabilisation in late July.
“During this maintenance period customers may experience intermittent slower internet speeds and dropped calls,” the release read. “BTC apologises and thanks customers for their patience and understanding. When the upgrades are complete we expect BTC customers to experience significant improvements relative to speed, overall accessibility and service stability.”
The company was forced to shell out $1.7 million as a part of its compensation package for a massive black out in March.
