Officials at the Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) on the Emancipation Day Holiday experienced more generation problems in the capital, leaving nearly 10 per cent of its customers in the dark.
BEC released a statement late Monday noting that due to challenges with its generation network, a number of customers in New Providence were left without power.
BEC teams were said to be working on the outage for up to five hours that night.
This outage comes on the heels of two other island wide blackouts in the capital that lasted for nearly 12 hours each.
“The corporation sincerely apologises to its customers and ensures them that its
teams are working aggressively to restore supply in the shortest possible time,” the release read at the time.
