An American woman died following an apparent boating accident on the island of Bimini Sunday, police have reported.
According to police, the 26-year-old was on board a boat that left south Bimini with a number of passengers.
However, the vessel collided into Turtle Rock, off south Bimini.
Police were alerted shortly after 10:00 p.m., Sunday and reported that the female passenger had been ejected from the boat and landed in the water.
She was located a short time later was taken to the Alice Town Clinic where she was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, Grand Bahama police are also investigating an incident that has left a 57-year-old man of Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock dead.
The man was reportedly in the Jones Town area diving but never resurfaced.
His body was later recovered some 300 yards offshore.
Emergency medical services personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing into the matters.
