An American man’s body was found floating in a canal in West End, Grand Bahama Tuesday morning, police have confirmed.

The man was wearing a navy, white and blue striped shirt, white short pants and a brown leather belt at the time.

He was barefoot, police said.

A doctor pronounced the man dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
