The Bahamas Industrial Tribunal and the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS)
introduced JUDI.AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to automate core tribunal
functions.
The technology, developed by CAJS, will streamline time-consuming tasks like generating
orders and notices. More importantly, JUDI.AI will streamline administrative workflow, enabling
more efficient and accurate court operations. The use of this technology is set to position the
Bahamas Industrial Tribunal at the forefront of court service excellence.
“JUDI.AI promises not only to enhance our efficiency, but also to redefine the way we deliver
justice, ultimately benefiting litigants and legal advocates alike,” Indira Demeritte-Francis,
president of the Bahamas Industrial Tribunal.
Bevil Wooding, executive director of CAJS, shared that the goal of the new system is to
reimagine how service offerings can best meet the needs of court users.
He said, “JUDI.AI sets a precedent for how AI technology can be used to positively impact other
jurisdictions.”
The CAJS works to improve the quality and effectiveness of justice delivery, having its latest
collaborative effort with the Bahamas Industrial Tribunal be a transformative change in the legal
landscape in the Caribbean.
The latest outcome of the Bahamas Industrial Tribunal and CAJS’s partnership signals a move to
include artificial intelligence in all sectors. The Bahamas Industrial Tribunal serves as a pivotal
institution for labour dispute resolution in The Bahamas, ensuring fair and just outcomes for both
employers and employees. This innovative technology indicates the increasing ubiquity of AI in
the Bahamian labour market.
