The Bahamas Christian Council invites all church leaders and senior pastors from every island of The Bahamas to a Pastors Conclave, which will be held next Thursday and Friday, July 2 – 3, in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
The event will be held at the Grand Lucayan Hotel beginning at 6 p.m.
“The conclave will be a time of prayer and fasting and repentance to cry out to Almighty God to have mercy upon us and deliver us from our evil ways. We recognize that The Bahamas is in danger of God’s judgment falling upon us because of our sins,” President of the Bahamas Christian Council Rev. Ranford Patterson said yesterday.
“Ever since the founding of The Bahamas as a sovereign nation in 1973, we have steadily moved away from the Christian and spiritual values to which we committed as a nation. As a result, spiritual darkness, lawlessness and social ills are now pervasive throughout our country.”
According to Patterson, the Pastors Conclave demonstrates the humble admission that pastors do not have the where withal to fix the ills of the nation and it is their recognition that in the absence of God’s divine intervention the country’s circumstance will only grow progressively worse.
“We are therefore making this urgent appeal to the spiritual gatekeepers of our nation to humbly come together to fast and pray, seek God’s face and repent of our sin, so that God will hear from heaven, forgive our sin and heal our land,” Rev. Patterson said.
Special discount air fares have been arranged with Bahamasair for pastors travelling from New Providence and the Family Islands.
Discounted accommodation rates have also been arranged with the Grand Lucayan Hotel in Freeport.
Pastors attending the conclave are asked to call the office of the Bahamas Christian Council at 361-0809.
