An American man from Alabama is in police custody for failing to declare and making a false declaration on Monday.
According to reports, shortly after 11 a.m., the man was returning to the United States, when US Customs and Border Patrol officials detained him at the US Pre-Clearance Departure Lounge at LPIA for failing to declare $38,500.
The man was handed over to the police and is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
Another American man from New Jersey is also in police custody for failing to declare on Sunday.
According to reports, around 2 p.m., the man was returning to the United States, when United States Customs and Border Patrol officials detained him at the United States Pre-Clearance Departure Lounge at the Lynden Pindling International Airport for failing to declare, $54,447.
The man was handed over to the police and is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
Just two days prior another American man was arrested for failing to declare $27,696.
In other crime news:
Robbery arrests were made by police on Tuesday night in the Soldier Road area and those suspects are also being questioned in connection to several other armed robberies.
Three males ages 19, 17 and 16, were arrested following an armed robbery.
According to reports, after 8 p.m. Tuesday night, police received a report that a woman was held up and robbed by three masked males on Soldier Road.
Officers from the Mobile Unit responded and arrested the three suspects in Kennedy Subdivision.
The officers recovered a loaded handgun from the suspects along with three ski masks.
Police also reported that shortly after 1 p.m., on Monday officers from the Southwestern Division, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area off Coral Harbour Road, where they uncovered an AK 47 assault rifle along with two live rounds of ammunition.
No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.
