Four of the recent most wanted murder suspects are now in police custody after they surrendered to authorities over the weekend.
The men all turned themselves into police hours after officials revealed their names, photos and addresses.
On Wednesday, police officials put out all points bulletins for the wanted murder suspects and just hours later on Thursday, murder suspects Stanley Taylor, Sharad Curry and Prince Farrington all turned themselves into police.
And on Friday a fourth murder suspect, Carson Farrington who was featured during a recent police press conference surrendered to police at the Central Detective Unit around 1:00 p.m. that day.
Despite these arrests, police officials are still on the hunt for the remaining men on that list.
At a recent press conference Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said that topping this most wanted list is 25-year-old Jamal “Eggy” Gibson of Step Street, Fox Hill who is wanted for a number of murders in the Fox Hill and Bernard Road areas.
Assistant Commissioner Dean warned that Gibson is dangerous and is believed to be responsible for a number of armed robberies as well.
“He is armed and dangerous, this is no person that you want to have in your house, in your company, that you want to be associated with,” he said.
“We know that there are persons out there who might be harbouring him, it’s a criminal offence to harbour persons who are wanted fugitives in our country but we need to get this young man off the streets, we believe that should we have him off the streets, it will reduce the murder count, he is a dangerous person.”
There is also 20-year-old Armando Sergeant who also goes by the name ‘Crow’ of Sutton Street, Kemp Road.
Also on this list of nine suspected and wanted murderers are 23-year-old Dwight “Whitey” Jones of Monastery Park and Pinewood Gardens in connection to a murder in Montell Heights, 22-year-old Michael Renaldo Mackey, whose alias is “Murder” of #10 old Cedar Street, Yellow Gardens with another known address of Augusta Street.
Mackey is wanted in connection to a murder that occurred in Yellow Elder Gardens.
Also making this most wanted list is 25-year-old Gibson Baptiste of Golden Isles Road and 30-year-old Jermaine Scott of #17 Dominica Street.
Police believe that these men, in separate cases, but collectively, are responsible eight or nine recent murders that have occurred this year.
The murder count now stands at 100.
