A 19-year-old male resident of James Cistern, Eleuthera was killed in a car crash early Saturday morning, police have confirmed.

Police said it was around 12:30 a.m. Saturday that the victim identified as Shayne Thompson, was driving along the highway in the area of James Cistern when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.

The man was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extracted.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by the local doctor.
