One day after being gunned down, four men were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Deputy Director of Bahamas Information Services (BIS) and press secretary to the prime minister Latore Mackey, police announced Tuesday.
Mackey, 37, was shot to death in his government issued vehicle early Monday morning on White Road off Market Street.
Late Tuesday afternoon, police announced the arrests of four suspects in connection with the incident.
Police said that between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30p.m. yesterday, officers took into custody a 24-year-old man from Palmetto Avenue; a 22-year-old man Young Close; a 20-year-old man of Bimini Avenue and an 18-year-old man of Young Close for questioning in reference to Mackey’s murder.
Meanwhile, police also arrested two suspects in two other murders.
Yesterday, officers took into custody a 20-year-old man from Kemp Road in connection with the murder of George Nixon last Thursday and the murder of Charles Davis this past Sunday.
A second man was also arrested around 3:45p.m. Tuesday.
The 33-year-old man from West Ridge Estates was wanted by police in reference to abetment to murder also in relation to Davis’ murder.
