An early morning home invasion, armed robbery and shooting in Grand Bahama left a Caucasian man dead Tuesday morning.

It is reported that the victim is a businessman on that island.

Reports are on Tuesday around 9:30 a.m., police received information that a male was fatally shot at a residence in the area.

“Around 7:00 a.m. a male reported that while at home with his family three masked men armed with a handgun and a machete entered their home and they were robbed, an altercation occurred between the assailant and one of the male residents who was shot and killed,” a police press release read.

“EMS personnel responded and the body was pronounced dead at the scene by
doctors from the Rand Memorial Hospital.”

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for anyone with information that can assist them with their investigation to contact them at 350-3107/8, 911/919 or call the nearest police station.
