Two people were arrested in connection with two recent murders yesterday, police have said.
According to police, a 19-year-old man wanted for questioning in reference to a murder, was arrested in Montell Heights just after midnight Sunday.
Police said a 16-year-old male was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for questioning in reference to a recent murder.
Two American men were also arrested by police for drug possession.
According to reports, a 21-year-old man from Hialeah, Florida was arrested shortly after noon Saturday after he was found in possession of a quantity of marijuana while at Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island.
A short time later, officers also arrested a 21-year-old man from North Charleston, South Carolina who was found with a quantity of marijuana on board a pleasure boat moored at Prince George Dock.
Police also have a 57-year-old man and a 43-year-old man both of Destin, Florida in their custody after the pair was found in possession of two unlicensed firearms early Sunday morning.
Officers from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force conducted a search of a pleasure boat moored at East Bay Street and found two rifles that the two suspects failed to declare upon entering The Bahamas.
The men were taken into custody and handed over to the police for further investigations.
