A 29-year-old man has turned himself into police in connection with a brazen daylight killing in Yellow Elder Saturday that left one man dead, police have confirmed.
Police said the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. along Graham Drive while a man was standing with a group of men when he got into an altercation with another man.
The two reportedly got into a scuffle just before the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times about the body.
The man collapsed and died on the scene, leaving spectators in shock as his body lay on the hot tar road.
“When officers arrived on the scene, they met the lifeless body of the male, who was pronounced dead just after,” Police Superintendent Stephen Dean said.
“Not long after the suspect turned himself in to the Grove Police Station. He is currently assisting police in our investigations.”
The Bahama Journal has learned that the victim is Jermaine Black aka “Blacks”.
This latest slaying comes less than two weeks after Darius Miller was shot and killed just a stone’s throw away in the Yellow Gardens area.
Police are however asking anyone in the public that may have information that can assist with the investigation to contact them at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477).
