Police in Grand Bahama made an almost $90,000 drug bust in waters just off that island on Tuesday.
According to police reports it was around 11:30 a.m. when police received information of a distressed vessel some 20.8 miles north east of West End.
Officers of the Police Harbour Patrol Unit and Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (BASRA) responded and towed the vessel.
It was a white 20 foot Aqua Sport with six passengers on board, two Jamaicans and four Bahamians.
On arrival in West End, officers conducted a searched of the vessel and discovered on board 47 taped packages of suspected marijuana.
The passengers were subsequently arrested and taken into police custody and the suspected drugs confiscated.
The suspected marijuana weighs 86 pounds and is valued with a street value of $86,000.
