The lifeless body of a man was found buried in a shallow grave behind a home, according to Chief Superintendent of Police Solomon Cash.
The country recorded another homicide for 2020 as police were called to the Garden Hills area around midday yesterday.
“Officers came on the scene and they confirmed that there was a lifeless body that was partially buried in the shallow grave. The officers called EMS who pronounced individual dead on the scene. I can say now that a male relative is in police custody, who is suspected to may have had some involvement in it,” Cash said.
Cash was unable to give the exact age of victim, but said the man may be in his 60s.
According to police, there is a 24-year-old male related to the victim.
The pair were living in the home and is suspected to be father and son, Cash said.
Cash also explained that due to injuries to the victim’s body, it is suspected that the man was buried for at least a day.
“It is difficult to determine at this time the nature of the injuries,” he said.
It is believed that the suspect is a patient at Sandilands Rehabilitation Center.
However, Cash said, “We got that information also, but we have wait for official reports from our medical persons who can confirm that for us.”
