The autopsy results for a Haitian man who died suddenly on Andros a week ago are still not ready.
Family and friends are still waiting to find out just how Fleridor Almera died in San Andros.
Eyewitnesses allege that he was beaten by an immigration officer or sprayed in the face with a substance, which led to his death.
The family has since hired attorney Paul Moss to handle their case.
Pastor of the Cornerstone Zion ‘H’ Church Bishop Jean Yves Gelin told The Bahama Journal yesterday that he was told that the autopsy results could take anywhere from 15 days to a month.
“I spoke to Mr. Clarke of the funeral home and he told me on Saturday that they don’t just give you the results quickly. However, he said the death certificate is ready,” he said.
“As for our attorney, Paul Moss, he can’t do anything right now. His hands are tied until the autopsy results are released.”
The Haitian community in San Andros, Andros has since called on the government to assist in burying Almera.
Relatives for the father of four say they do not have enough money to bury him.
