Bahamian music legend Sly Roker was shot at his home in Blue Hills, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Island on Wednesday morning.
According to TCI police, officers of the Serious Crime Unit are actively investigating the early morning shooting incident.
Police said at 3:05 a.m., Central received reports that an armed assailant entered the Bay Road, Blue Hills, home of the victim and opened fire.
According to police, Roker, who was transported to hospital, was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m.
Roker was an undeniable Bahamian superstar, from a cameraman and videographer to drummer for the likes of Smokey007 and singer of mega hit ‘Give it up Baby’.
Visage leader Obi Pindling expressed complete shock at the news and said the horrible loss was already reverberating throughout Nassau.
“Nehemiah Heild called me and asked me if I heard what’s going on?” Pindling said.
Sly grew up in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama and is a member of the Dean family in Blue Hills.
