It has been a month since 15-year-old Jade Sands was first reported missing and she has still not returned home, police officials said yesterday.
But, according to Superintendent Stephen Dean it appears as if someone knows where the Blue Hill resident is.
“Over the month we have gotten various reports of sightings that she has been to one or two places,” he said.
“We know that persons in the community know where this 15-year-old is today and we are saying to any adults who might know to please contact the police.”
Jade has a brown complexion and is 5’7” tall with slim build.
Sup’t Dean said anyone who knows where the teen is should contact the Central Detective Unit (CDU) at 502-9991 o 502-9910 or Police Emergency at 911.
“We are saying to any adult, particularly any adult male who might have this girl in their care to contact the police,” he added. “If we find that you are harbouring this 15-year-old we will prosecute you once you get in custody.”
“Her life might be in danger, we don’t know. But we do know that she is still here in New Providence, based on our intelligence. So we are asking every citizen to assist us.”
Sup’t Dean said the girl has not contacted her parents since she was reported missing.
