The parliamentary department’s redistribution exercise has brought about some change to evening voter registration and as result several voter hubs have been relocated.

In a statement provided by the department they advise persons who were headed to Gerald Cash primary and the Enoch Beckford building are now directed to the Carmichael road post office.

With the Carmichael primary school now being closed as a station persons are advised to head over to SC McPherson junior high school.

Potential voters turning out to Palmdale primary must now go to Centreville or Uriah McPhee schools, in the case of the temporarily closed station at CI Gibson High School, persons are advised to use the neighbouring Mall at Marathon.

Instead of Thelma Gibson, persons are directed to the Elizabeth Estates Post Office, CC Sweeting and H.O. Nash to the University of the Bahamas, C.V. Bethel to South Beach Post Office and in the case of the National Emergency Management agency, head to Garvin Tynes Primary,

As of Monday stations are now officially open and ready for person’s to pick up their 2017 General Election voter’s cards.

Parliamentary Commissioner Sherlyn Hall said in order for the process to move as swiftly as possible additional staff has been added in this phase of the voter registration process.

He further noted that persons can also add to the efficiency by having the receipt initially handed to them on hand when they go to collect the voter’s cards.

Over the weekend it was reported that 80 per cent of eligible voters have registered to cast ballots in the next general election, according to data from the Parliamentary Registration Department.
