Investigators are following significant leads into the country’s latest homicide.
According to reports, shortly after 11:00 Monday night, police reported that 33-year-old Lavardo Demetrius Dean had just arrived at his Goggle Eye Road home off Soldier Road when a gunman approached him and shot him several times.
Police said the culprit was wearing a red and blue Tommy hooded jacket and short blue pants.
Dean was pronounced dead at the scene.
A source close to the investigation told the Bahama Journal yesterday that several people were questioned in reference to this slaying, but no one has been taken into custody.
Police believe robbery was the motive.
Meanwhile, Grand Bahama police have identified that island’s fifth homicide victim as 46-year-old Peter Beneby also known as Peter Charlton.
Officers from the Eight Mile Rock division were called to the scene around 10:15 Monday night where Beneby’s body was found with stab wounds to the upper right back.
Police are questioning three adults – one man and two women – in reference to this slaying.
