The men police believe to be responsible for the home invasion of renowned psychiatrist Dr. David Allen were charged with numerous counts ranging from armed robbery to intent to commit a felony before Magistrate Constance Delancey yesterday.
Leonard O’Brien,19, of Market Street and 20-year-old Wilson Lacroix of Soldier Road walked into the Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon heavily guarded by Central Detective Unit (CDU) officers.
This past Tuesday, the duo allegedly broke into Dr. Allen’s home, armed with a handgun and robbed him.
The items removed from Dr. Allen’s compound included a gold Cuban link chain, a 32 inch TV set and gold Seiko watch, all valued at $1,950.
Furthermore the pair is also accused of robbing on that same day, Marie Allen Carrol of $100 cash, a wallet, drivers license, passport, ray ban sunglasses, a play station 4 and a Mac computer, total value $2,610.
Magistrate Delancey asked the accused if they understood what they were being charged for to which they replied “yes” before she continued with even more charges.
Rolle and Lacroix were also accused of robbing Dwight Rolle on the 26th of July of 2005 gold Toyota Corolla worth $6,000, a cell phone worth $330 and $10 cash.
They will appear before the Supreme Court where their matter will be heard as they were not required to enter a plea and denied bail.
When being carried out of the courts one of the accused relatives was inconsolable and shouted “why y’all keep doing this to me?”
They will return to court for a voluntary bill of indictment on August 30th, 2016 and were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
