Two men – ages 51 years – along with their 46-year-old alleged accomplice were arrested early yesterday in connection with a major drug bust, the second in recent days.
A team of Drug Enforcement and Defence Force officers headed to the Sea Breeze area around 4:00 a.m. Monday and spotted a large quantity of dangerous drugs being offloaded from a vessel onto a truck, according to authorities.
The men were all arrested and over 800 pounds of marijuana was seized.
Police said the drugs have an estimated street value of $800,000.
This latest drug haul comes just three days after Grand Bahama police searched a 40-foot container and found two black Nike duffle bags.
According to police, inside the bags were 53 taped packages of suspected cocaine and one taped package of suspected heroin; a total of 131 pounds of drugs.
The total value of the suspected drugs is $1.4 million.
No arrests were made in this matter.
Active investigations continue in both incidents.
