Over $2 million worth of drugs were discovered on a Family Island on Friday, authorities confirmed yesterday.
Police officers, Defence Force marines and US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) officers confiscated 49 bales of marijuana and two go fast speed boats in Bimini.
The drugs weighed 2,300 pounds and have a street value of $2.3 million.
No arrests have been made in this operation.
Meantime, authorities in Grand Bahama busted a passenger with $40,000 worth of cocaine at the Grand Bahama Airport on Thursday.
Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers searched a male passenger’s luggage and found two yellow square taped packages containing five pounds of suspected cocaine.
The male passenger was arrested and his luggage was confiscated.
