Two men were charged with burglary and three counts of armed robbery in connection with a home invasion earlier this month.
Twenty-one-year-old, Cleophas Smith and 21-year-old Cleaon Fulford are accused of the home invasion of a Carmichael Road area residence.
Police say that it was between 11:45 p.m. on June 3 and 4:00 a.m. on June 4, that the men broke into the home of Michael Miller at Silver Closer, Cedar Way off Carmichael Road.
Police say the men armed with a firearm robbed Mr. Miller of two vehicles – a gray Honda Accord and a F-150 truck, jewelry and other personal items totaling $44,035.
It is further alleged that his wife, Sylvia Miller, was also held at bay and robbed of a cell phone, jewelry and cash totaling $1,550.
The men are also accused of holding the couple’s daughter, Michaelena Miller at bay and robbing her of jewelry, a cell phone and other personal items that totaled $1,225.
Smith alone was charged with an additional burglary count and three counts of armed robbery stemming from an incident back on May 31.
Police alleged on that day, Smith broke into the home of Nicanor Thompson off Mermaid Boulevard where he allegedly stole a laptop and a car valued at $3,700.
The men were not required to plead to the charges.
They were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP).
The matter will be fast tracked to the Supreme Court for trial as the men are expected to be served a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI) on the September 3 and September 4.
