Ministry of Works officials have released a list of areas that will be closed from now until October 31 – when the New Providence Road Improvement Project (NPRIP) is expected to be completed.
In a press statement released yesterday, officials said Soldier Road and Old Trail Road, Wulff, Bernard and Soldier Road and at the Marathon Road and the Wulff Road roundabout will experience closures.
Additionally, along Baillou Hill Road South there will be lane closures to install sidewalks.
On Baillou Hill Road North, sections of this road from Duke Street to Meadow Street will be closed to complete paving works.
On Market Street, lane closures will be put into effect to complete installation of sidewalks.
Officials said road closures will also be necessary at the Soldier Road South and Robinson Road intersection and the Robinson Road and Old Trail Road intersection.
Furthermore, lane closures will be implemented at Beatrice Avenue to Wilson Way and from Academy Street to Winters Road to complete paving works.
Currently, Fox Hill Road North and Prince Charles Drive is closed to complete all underground works to the intersection.
Officials said once completed, localised lane closure will be implemented to construct sidewalks.
Partial road closures will be required on the Wulff and Marathon Road roundabout for installation of underground utilities and full closure of the roundabout is expected during the road construction phase.
At Wulff Road between Kemp Road and Village Road roundabout, the works within the road closure are at an advanced stage and while localised lane closures will be expected on Bernard Road, two-way traffic will be maintained.
Officials said they will continue to release updates as they become available.
