The month of February is much more than Valentines.
It is actually recognized in many countries including the Bahamas as Heart month.
The management and staff of Bally Total Fitness decided to celebrate both Valentines and heart month by having a Have a Heart raffle for all its members during the month of February.
The fitness facility raffled off two baskets filled with Bally products such as: Bally Performance protein shakes, Bally weight lifting gloves, Bally Snack Right bars, Bally Blast energy drinks, Bally sports water bottles, and Bally meal replacement bars.
Entry to the raffle was free, all members had to do was enter their name into the free drawing box when they entered the gym.
The male and female winner each received a basket filled with Bally brand products to promote a good diet and regular exercise, which can help maintain a healthy heart.
Heart Disease affects many persons in the Bahamas but it is preventable through diet and exercise.
Studies show that regular exercise can substantially reduce your risk for heart disease.
As little as 30 minutes, three times a week achieve significant health benefits, and more is better.
To ensure a healthy heart:
Make exercise a priority, make it fun, and do it regularly.
Aim for 30 minutes a day, five times a week.
Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and oatmeal and cut down on saturated fats.
And finally don’t forget to see your doctor for an annual checkup.
You only have one heart so take care of it.
