Police are now on the hunt for the jitney driver who they believe caused the accident.
Traffic on West Bay Street was backed up for most of the day as officers investigated the crash.
Inspector David Lockhart of the Traffic Division said the jitney driver fled the scene.
"At about 12:45 p.m. (Wednesday) an accident occurred on West Bay Street in the east bound lanes," he said.
"The cement truck was filled with [thousands of pounds] of concrete and the driver reported being cut off by an omnibus."
He further explained that the driver told police that in order to avoid colliding with the bus he swerved to his left, eventually crashing into the wall just in front of the Nassau Beach Hotel.
Inspector Lockhart said the driver and flipped over in the cement truck before hitting the wall and received some injuries.
"He is at the hospital being attended to and the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time," Inspector Lockhart added. "Police investigations are continuing into this matter."
Inspector Lockhart said making the jitney driver pay for his wreckless driving might prove a bit difficult.
"No one was able to get the identification of the bus, but we are conducting some investigations," he said. "If anyone was riding the bus at the time you can remain anonymous but provide us with the information."
"We just want to advise the public to please drive with safety and care and to not just drive for themselves. Drive with all road users in mind whether they be motorists, motorcyclists, bicyclists or pedestrians."
