Suspect In Custody For American Woman’s Murder

By Staff Writer
Police have arrested a man suspected of killing an American woman and are searching for a second suspect who is not in The Bahamas, CDU Superintendent Elsworth Moss has confirmed.

The suspect was picked up on Monday, officials said.

Anna Garson, 33, was found wrapped in a plastic bag in bushes on Fox Hill Road Saturday.

Police could not determine her cause of death because her body was so badly decomposed. However, authorities believe that she may have been dead at least a week before being discovered.

She is the country’s 39th murder victim.

According to Mr. Moss, Garson was reported missing on March 2.

He said the West Palm Beach resident was staying with a Bahamian family at the time of her disappearance.

He said that it was the family that identified her body. The family had to rely on a tattoo located on Garson’s back to identify her.

The superintendent said police are now awaiting the arrival of the victim’s father to provide DNA samples.

Police are expected to hold a press conference today in connection with this matter.

Investigations continue.
