Murder Shatters Bimini Community

A man in his late 20s was stabbed to death in Alice Town, Bimini, police have confirmed. The homicide is the third incident to occur in less than a week.

The victim has been identified as Vermon Rolle.

The country’s murder count now stands at 38.

According to police reports, Rolle, was stabbed shortly after 5:00 p.m. while in the area of the Sue & Joy Convenience Store.

He was taken to a local clinic where he died.

Police are still trying to determine why Rolle was stabbed. A man in his late 20s is in police custody.

On Monday, Dewitte Butler, a Carmichael Road resident, was killed following an argument over a gambling game.

The shooting death came less than 48 hours after Grand Bahama recorded its fourth homicide.
