July 24th, 2009 Crime Stoppers Win Battle Of Undefeated - Government Basketball Tonight -DWDThe Bahamas Government Department Basketball Association will be in action again tonight at the DW Davis Gym with action beginning at 6:30pm. In the feature game of Wednesday nights' triple header the Police Crime Stoppers remained undefeated and gave the Real Deal Rangers their first loss of the season with a 99-82 victory. The Crime Stoppers improved to 8-0 and the Rangers dropped to 7-1. Freddie Lightbourne led the Police with 23 points, Valentino Richardson had 18 and Vernon Stubbs finished with 17 in the win. Brandon Ingraham went down with a game high 28 for the Rangers. Ian 'Wire' Pinder had 20. In the opening game the National Insurance Board Stars stopped the Sunshine Insurance Energizers, 58-57. Jerome Sands led the Stars with 13, Dwight Williamson had 21 for the Energizers. In the third game of the night the B.E.C. Shockers led by Collin Thompson with 14 stopped the Prison Challengers, 77-63. Sandi Mackey led the Prison with 16 in the loss.
