The Cabinet of the Bahamas  spent some time yesterday  touring the $50 million Fusion Superplex, ahead of its much anticipated soft opening later this month.

Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis said he is more than impressed with the complex and is proud that it is Bahamian owned.

“What has me more impressed is that it’s done by young Bahamian who would have run into many obstacles in the process,  but they were determined.”

“They had a dream, they had a goal, and they just persisted in spite of running into obstacles, they still persisted,” he said.

Fusion features nine standard cinemas, an  Imax theatre with a VIP section, a 4DX theatre, a game room, two restaurants, a Star Bucks, an ice cream bar and a lounge area.

Some  401 Bahamians are employed at Fusion;  that figure will climb to just under 420 at the end of the week.

Tourism Minister Dionisio D’Aguilar said  the complex will be a good addition to the country’s marketing strategies.

“We’re always looking for interesting things to do when persons come to The Bahamas, and certainly for a young person, an infant, a child or a young adult who is looking for something fun and safe to do, this is a natural venue.”

“So, when people come here and they want to know what to do, you can certainly come here and learn, because obviously they are going to have a lot of educational films. It’s just awesome, this really is incredible,” he said.

Health Minister Dr. Duane Sands also weighing in on the new complex,  said that the complex is spectacular.

“It is absolutely unbelievable;  to imagine that this is Bahamian facility staffed by a very large contingent of young Bahamians eager and willing to serve.”

“The theatre is spectacular and certainly I congratulate the owners, I congratulate all the partners and wish them well in this venture.

“It certainly provides something else to do when you’re looking for an outing on a Friday night, a Saturday night or whenever,”  said Dr. Sands.

Fusion’s soft opening is on November 23rd, the Grand Opening’s slated for December 14th.
